You must know that in Goa from North to South, there are South west facing beaches which provide friendly conditions to wave riders. Arambol, Ashvem, BAga, Calangute from the North , and Betalbaim, Varca, Agonda, Palolem from South welcome surfers from across the globe. Different spots have different feactures, like some spots are shallow, some are deep, some beaches have white sands, some have golden and most importantly the sea swells differently on all the locations hence surfers get a lot of variety in terms of surfing experience.
Surfing Equipment and Rentals
Surfing doesn’t need many equipment. You just need a surfboard and you are ready to glide over the waves. Of course, along with the surfboard you would also need a leash, fins, wax if you are a beginner. Some beginners also feel that wetsuits help them do water surfing in Goa better. Ask you operators or surf school supervisiors about the equipment available with them. Unless you decide to pursue surfing consistently, it’s better to rent those. Most surfing schools have enough equipment up for rent, but it’s better to book your slots and gears beforehand.

Doing surfing in Goa, one must follow certain safety rules. People often feel that thrill is in being rash; but that’s wrong. The sea is a powerful force of nature and one must keep in mind the following safety tips when going surfing.

Surf between the chequered flags : Flags indicate safe area for surfing hence don’t go beyond.

Go with a buddy: Never venture into the sea for surfing alone, it’s a buddy sport and you will enjoy surfing with your buds.

Wear a leash: leash keeps you tied with the board so never let yourself go unleashed.

Right suit: choose right outfits (preferably wetsuit) as your suit is in a way your protection layer.
